shaking hands

OMERS Infrastructure today announced two senior hires across its global offices, bolstering the team’s asset management capabilities with a particular focus on telecommunications and ESG. OMERS Infrastructure manages a portfolio of infrastructure investments globally on behalf of OMERS, the defined benefit pension plan for municipal employees in the Province of Ontario, Canada. The appointments are as follows:

Timm Degenhardt has joined the London team of OMERS Infrastructure as Managing Director, Asset Management, effective August 2, reporting to Philippe Busslinger. His appointment follows the recent growth of the portfolio and significant anticipated activity in the telecom infrastructure space where OMERS is actively looking to double its exposure over the next few years.

Timm will support OMERS Infrastructure European businesses, partnering with senior management teams, and stakeholders to maximize long-term value creation. He will work directly with the transaction team to further OMERS infrastructure investments in the telecom infra space, leveraging his extensive experience in both the mobile sector and fixed telecom sectors.

Bruce Schlein has joined the firm as Director, Head of ESG, in a newly created global role supporting OMERS Infrastructure’s efforts and expanding its strengths in this important area. Working from OMERS New York office, Bruce is responsible for developing OMERS Infrastructure’s global ESG strategy and supporting its integration and execution. He will work closely with boards and management teams at portfolio companies, to develop tools and programs to improve ESG performance, and will support the integration of ESG into portfolio formation, capital allocation and deal origination.

“We are thrilled to welcome Timm and Bruce to the OMERS Infrastructure team as we continue to build and manage a diverse and resilient portfolio that delivers steady returns while positively shaping the communities in which we invest,” said Annesley Wallace, Global Head of OMERS Infrastructure. “These senior hires bring deep experience and expertise in telecommunications and ESG to our robust asset management team and will help advance our mission of driving growth and value across our portfolio.”
